Name dropping...

Today I'm looking for you all to do some name dropping, OTP style. Fill in the following: "Kris, you could not possibly write about 50 years of Old Town Playhouse without talking to______________."

Wardrobe Malfunctions

We all know about Janet Jackon's *unfortunate* wardrobe malfunction. And anyone who's been on stage probably has a good story (or two) about their own wardrobe malfunction. Like that time during "Grease" when my wig fell off in the middle of the prom scene or the time I broke out in hives because I was allergic to my costume.

I know there are some doozies out there, so let's hear 'em.

All in the name of theater....

If you went to work tomorrow--to your paid job--and your boss demanded you shave your head, you'd probably tell him to go fly a kite. Yet, year after year, volunteers have made what could be called crazy sacrifices, all in the name of volunteering at the Old Town Playhouse.

So, what's your story of great sacrifice? Did you shave your head for a role? Drive 60 miles each way in the winter to get to rehearsals? Miss a major family event because it was on the same night as opening night?

I know you've got stories....let's hear them!

The show must go on...or must it?

The saying goes that "the show must go on" and generally it does. But there are always close calls. So, what's your OTP close call story where the show almost didn't go on? Perhaps, the lead lost his voice or the director was in an accident prior to opening. Ever been in a show where someone was thrown on stage last minute to cover? Let's hear your stories about the performances that almost didn't happen.

Welcome to the 50th year blog

In an effort to gain as much perspective as possible on the 50th anniversary of the Old Town Playhouse, I'm creating this blog with the hopes that past and present OTP folks will come and share their stories.

Each day I will be posting a subject matter and I hope you will check back and post your thoughts, stories, and comments as they relate to that part of the history of OTP.

Likewise, if you have memorabilia: photos, programs, notes, videos, posters, etc that you would like to share, please let me know.

I look forward to hearing your stories!

Kris
